We are planning to cruise in a 25 ft powerboat from somewhere in

watch for.
Thanks.

What is the maximum length of boat that can be trailered without
running into constant parking and turning hassles at ramps? Forget
weight and assume it is a fairly light boat.

It’s just a typical 18ft. runabout with inboard 4 cyl 140 mercruiser.
it ahs an inboard tank which I’m really not sure of the total capacity.
maybe 8-10 gal. I’d like to add an extra fuel tank or so, and was
wondering if it’s actually legal to do so via coast guard approval.
i was thinking on getting a couple 6-10 gal tanks and putting them
under the rear seats, sealing the vents either tieing them together, or
using one as a reserve., Amd I was planning on filling them with the
main tank. In didn’t know if this would present a problem so I thought
I’d ask here.
Thanks
It might be a stupid question to some of you old salts but hey I have
lived in Nebraska and Colorado all my life. The biggest body of water
close to my house is the stock tank by the windmill.
I have read about quite a few Ocean crossings in sailboats but I have
always wondered about crossing the Atlantic or Pacific in a motor
powered boat. I assume there are no gas stations floating around in the
middle of the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans??? My experience with small
ski boats etc. is that they suck a lot of fuel. My old 18 foot Glastron
165 I/O MercCruiser would go through 25 gallons in a day easily. Using
fuel at that rate I figure it would take at least 1000 gallons to make
it from NYC to the UK (3500 miles give or take at 3.5 mpg). Does
anyone have any idea about what kinds of Atlantic/Pacific crossings
have been done in smaller powered craft?
Hi all,
I’m looking for a grill for my boat, and have been actively asking
around for months. Everyone seems to dislike at least a couple of
things about their grills –
1. They are hard to keep lit in the wind
2. The lid isn’t hinged (early Magmas)
3. Not big enough
4. They have hot spots and cold spots – doesn’t cook evenly
5. Expensive as hell
Does anyone have a grill that doesn’t have these problems??
If I could solve 1 through 4, I’d be willing to ignore number 5.
Maybe.
Or, it would also be helpful to many I think to compile a list of
manufacturers, so that a good competitive market could be established.
Magma needs to come down on their prices.
Who else sells quality stainless LPG boat grills?
Mike.
The intake for my head appears to be clogged, or at least partially
clogged.
I’m having a diver clean the bottom soon, and I’ll have him be extra
sure to check the thru-hull,
but, if that fails, what is my next move?
Not sure how to clear the hose/thruhull without letting plenty of water
in the boat.
also, I’d prefer to avoid being sprayed with "head juice"
Peggy? Anyone?
Thanks,
Mike.
I’m just full of questions today,
Can anyone recommend a good air purifier/cleaner/filter that runs on
12v?
Mostly I’m interested in removing the dust from the air. We don’t
smoke, so that’s not such a big deal, but it would be nice if the
device could kill odors too,
Thanks,
Mike.
What’s happened to their newsgroup site? It is all gibberish.

Hello,
I recently moved to New Orleans area and I would like to ask
experienced boaters in Southeast Louisiana and South Mississippi some
questions about Cat and Ship Islands, and surrounding areas.
I am looking for a nice, not-to-crowded, safe beaches to enjoy with my
family. I would prefer places which are accessible by boat. From what
I have research so far on the Internet, it looks like Ship and Cat
Islands south of Gulfport and Biloxi might be the right places.
So, here are my questions:
1) Are these islands accessible by a 17.5 ft roundabout, or will I be
stretching my luck trying to go there in my boat?
2) Which are the recommended spots to anchor and swim? Which are the
places to avoid?
3) Any specific restriction, dangers, or precautions are should take
into account?
4) Can you recommend me any good boat launches in Gulfport or Biloxi to
launch my boat and leave the car?
5) Besides these two islands, can you recommend me any other beaches or
swiming spots, preferably closer to the Rigolets?
Regards.
Jan
